Health and Nutrition

Arpan's health interventions address AIDS prevention, maternal, child and adolescent health, nutrition, immunization and COVID-19 awareness and relief – working closely with government health systems, Anganwadi centres and national health missions.

• Working since 2008 to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among high-risk groups in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan reaching 300+ FSWs and 200+ MSMs and facilitating identity cards for 35 transgender individuals.
• Linked 85 children of high-risk-group communities with the PalanhaarYojana for financial and educational support.
• Strengthened over 6500 Anganwadi and NandGhar centres for Early Childhood Care and Education, maternal and child healthcare and nutrition, with technology integration and Anganwadi-worker training.

1. Managing 6000+ NandGhar across the country.
2. Operating 10,000 NandGhar for the Mother's Food Preparation Program nationwide.

• Reached 10,000+ adolescent girls with awareness on puberty, menstrual hygiene, anaemia and mental health.
• Nutrition Gardens: ARPAN has promoted 20000+ household and community nutrition gardens across programme areas, enabling women and families to grow fresh, diverse and nutritious food while strengthening dietary diversity, food security and household resilience.
• Zero Dose (ZD) & Potential Zero Dose (PZD) Children Initiative — UNICEF / GAVI

1. Identification & Immunisation: Identified and supported Zero Dose, Potential Zero Dose (PZD), FI-missed and high-risk children across 18 blocks in Udaipur, Rajsamand, Sikar and Churu, linking them with Routine Immunisation services. 
2. Community Mobilisation: Engaged and oriented 1,453 local influencers, including religious leaders, PRI members, teachers, youth, SHG members and traditional healers, with 1,316+ influencers trained/oriented to strengthen immunisation uptake and health-seeking behaviour. 
3. Key Achievements: Identified 5,830children, of whom 4,801 (82%) were reached/converted and linked to appropriate immunisation services. 
4. Access to Entitlements: Supported families in accessing key government schemes and entitlements, including Ayushman Bharat Cards, Mamta Cards, PMMVY and JSY, helping address barriers to healthcare. 
5. Health & Nutrition Support: Conducted health and nutrition camps covering BMI screening, iron-folic acid, multivitamin, deworming and calcium supplementation, along with referrals for children identified with malnutrition. 
6. Overall Impact: Strengthened community-level immunisation systems, helped bridge vaccination gaps, prevent vaccine-preventable diseases and improve child health and nutrition outcomes.

• Recipient of the State-level Award for AIDS Prevention Awareness from the Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society.
• Organised general health check-up camps across 500+ villages, providing communities with accessible basic health care services, health screening and timely referrals.
