Training, Capacity Building and Promotion of Community Institutions

Training and capacity building is the cornerstone of Arpan's development approach – equipping farmers, community institutions, youth and women with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement and sustain their own development.Strong, self-governed community institutions are the backbone of Arpan's sustainability strategy. Arpan mobilizes communities, builds representative institutions, strengthens their capacities, and progressively hands over ownership of assets – ensuring outcomes endure long after project completion.

• Trained 12, 00,000+ farmers in water resource management, climate-resilient agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry.
• Delivered skill development and placement-linked training to 1,00,000+ rural youth and women.
• Developed a trained grassroots cadre including 100+ “PashuSakhis” for last-mile animal healthcare and community resource persons for institutional handholding.
• Strengthened capacities of teachers, School Management Committees and Village Water & Sanitation Committees on digital literacy, WASH and hygiene behaviour change.
• Promoted and strengthened 2,500+ Self Help Groups, 3,000+ Farmer Interest Groups and 10 women's federations and FPOs
• Built a women-led Farmer Producer Company with 523 active members working in organic manure, quality seed production and goatery, achieving an annual turnover of approximately ?55 lakh.
• Nurtured a women-led federation of 100 Self Help Groups and 1,237 women members, running sewing centres and garment enterprises.
• Formed 750 Self Help Groups reaching 9,000+ women from De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribe communities, registering 10,000+ households for livelihood, education, health and housing entitlements across 11 districts of Rajasthan and 5 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
